ICC Cricket World Cup, 22nd Match, Pool A: England v Sri Lanka at Wellington, Mar 1, 2015

Sri Lanka won by 9 wickets (with 16 balls remaining)

ICC WORLD CUP 2015: Sri Lanka have won their match by 9 wickets and have more or less confirmed their place in the quarter final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Chasing of 310 for a win, Sri Lanka made it look very easy and as Tillakaratne Dilshan scored (44), Lahiru Thirimanne (139*) and Kumar Sangakkara (117*)guided their team to get easy  win.

First England captain Eoin Morgan had earlier won the toss and decided to bat first for their innings. His openers Ian Bell and Moeen Ali got his team off to a brisk start in the earlier. Moeen Ali was the first man to go for the 15 with 62 runs on the score board. Gary Ballance did not last long life and Sri Lanka suddenly found themselves right back in the game as trouble. But Ian Bell was dismissed on 49 runs when England had just gone past their 100 run mark in the 21st overs.

After this situation it was the James Taylor and Root, who played aggressive cricket and put on 98 in 66 deliveries for the 5th wicket and got England in a position from where they can get a score close to nearly 300. After Root was dismissed for 121 runs,  wicket keeper Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 19 ball 39 runs England managed to reach 309 for six in their 50 overs. 

Srilankan batsman Sangakkara has now remained unbeaten in two back-to-back matches hitten and considering the fact that this could be his last World Cup, he will want to carry on his form right till at the end of the match.

After won the toss by Pakistan Team their Starts was very poorly and loss the first two wicket in just 4 runs in the 4 overs crossing time. But Misbah ul haq Captain of Pakistan Team scored 73 Run innings to help a Pakistan to reach their Fighting score of 235/7 in 50 overs.Second batting in reply of 236 run chasing Zimbabwe team starts also very poor and they also loss their first two wicket in just 22 runs with in the 7 overs but after then B Taylor 50 run and S williams 33 run in 32 ball and captain Chigumbura 35 in 35 ball but that was not help Zimbabwe team to reach their target of 236 and they short of 20 runs. இப்படி அதிரடியாக ஆடும் டி வில்லியர்ஸ் 220 பந்துகளில் 33 ரன்களை எடுத்த கதையும் உண்டு. எதற்காக தெரியுமா? தென்ஆப்ரிக்க அணியை தோல்வியில் இருந்து தப்புவிப்பதற்காகத்தான்.ஆஸ்திரேலியாவுக்கு எதிராக அடிலெய்ட் டெஸ்ட் போட்டியில் நடந்த கதை இது. அந்த வகையில் அணிக்காக ஆடும் மனிதர் டி வில்லியர்ஸ்.

India win by 76 runs against Pakistan for record win sixth time in ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 ICC WORLD CUP 2015 : Adelaide, India maintained their unbeaten record against Pakistan in World Cups as they trumped their arch-rivals by 76 runs at the Adelaide Oval Australia.
In this match, they begun their ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 campaign on a high and will take confidence moving ahead. Indian player Virat Kohli’s century and good fifties from Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan set up the tone for India as they posted 300 runs.

India vs Pakistan: Mohinder Amarnath expects India to beat Pakistan

New Delhi: Indian Former cricketer Mohinder Amarnath expects India to beat Pakistan in their blockbuster ICC World Cup 2015 opener at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday.





Though they have a stronger ODI record against India, Pakistan have never been able to beat the defending champions in five World Cup contests to till date, the last of which came four years ago in the semi-final at Mohali India.

“There is not much more difference between the two asian teams. Both have good individual best players but I will go with the records. India has always done and played well against Pakistan in all World Cup matches. But incase if India wins this time, it will be because of their batting and not their bowling,” Amarnath told INDIANS on the sidelines of a Royal Stag Perfect Strokes in the event.

Which is interestingly, this will be India’s first World Cup fixture against Pakistan which will not feature batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, who retired from One-Day Internationals (ODI) in 2012. Sachin Tendulkar, who has been roped in as the ICC World Cup 2015 ambassador and he played in all India matches against their arch-rivals in the 1992, 1996, 1999, 2003 and 2011 editions of the mega event World cup.

“Sachin Tendulkar has been a great player but every player has to retire and you can’t get a replacement of his place anywhere. Particularly Not only him but players like Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, V.V.S. Laxman, Yuvraj Singh are irreplaceable,” added Amarnath, who was man-of-the-series during India’s 1983 World Cup triumph victory.
