Corey Anderson ruled out of the rest of the IPL 2015

IPL 2015 : Mumbai Indians all rounder Corey Anderson has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL due to a fractured finger on his left hand. He will return to New Zealand to recover & the injury leaves some doubt over his participation for the tour of England, which starts next month, after which he is set for a T20 stint with Somerset.

Corey Anderson ruled out of the rest of the IPL 2015

Anderson played the first matches of Mumbai's season - making fifties - & was travelling with the team over the past week, though he missed the fifth match in Bangalore & is unavailable for choice for the sixth in Delhi on Thursday.

Anderson would have been among the group of New Zealand players arriving soon before the first Check against England, at Lord's, which starts on May 21, through the agreement with NZC which lets them maximize their time at the IPL. He missed New Zealand's last Check series, against Sri Lanka, due to injury but the absence of fellow all rounder Jimmy Neesham from the England trip had created an opening for his return.

He is the third player Mumbai are losing this season: Australia speedy bowler Josh Hazlewood opted out of the IPL following the World Cup & Australia opener Aaron Finch suffered a hamstring injury in Mumbai's second match.

Anderson is the second New Zealand player to miss the IPL because of injury. Speedy bowler Adam Milne, who was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore, was ruled out of the season because of the heel injury he suffered in the coursework of the World Cup.

It is understood the franchise is waiting for an approval from the IPL technical committee to announce replacements for Finch & Hazlewood
